A traffic shift has been scheduled by the Hawai’i County Department of Public Works on the mauka lane on Mamalahoa Highway, beginning at Farm and Garden Repair and extending past L&L Drive Inn. Work on the roadway is part of the Napo’opo’o Road and Mamalahoa Highway intersection improvement project.

The shift is slated for Wednesday, Nov. 4 and will remain in effect for about six months, ending in May 2016. Weather and construction conditions permitting.

During the traffic shift, Isemoto Contracting Company will excavate and construct a 475 foot retaining wall along the Makai side of Mamalahoa Highway.

Motorists in the area should expect delays and drive with caution as heavy vehicles and machinery will be in the work zone.
