Additional $6M Approved for Haihai Fire Station

Hawai’i County Council members voted 7-0 vote this week to provide an additional $6 million to fund the construction of a new Hawai’i County Fire Department station on Haihai Street. 

The project is estimated to cost a total of $11.2 million and is slated go under the bidding process early next month.

Funds for the project will be provided from General Obligation Bonds and Capital Projects Funds.

The current Kawailani Fire Station will be replaced by the new facility.
