An incident involving a burglary in action on Sunday led to the arrest and charge of a 18-year-old Kona man.

On Sunday, a 57-year-old man returned to his house on Hoene Street at 4 p.m. to find two men on his lanai. One of the men had a bag that belonged to a family member and was filled with items from the house. The suspect threw the bag at the victim and both suspects began to flee on foot.

The family held one of the men, identified by HPD as David Daniel Styopin, until police arrived.

Styopin was arrested and taken to the Kona police cellblock as police investigated the incident.
