The decomposing body of a 72-year-old man that was found along the road leading to the Hilo International Airport on June 15 has been identified as Thomas G. Rogers.

On June 17, the Hawai’i Police Department said that they had made positive identification of the man, but were withholding his name pending the notification of his family.

HPD reports that attempts to locate the man’s family members were not successful.

Rogers has no permanent address but had lived in Hawai’i and in Oregon.
