The State of Hawai’i Department of Transportation reminds the public of the continued closure of the Umauma Bridge in Hakalau.

Continuous activity on the Umauma Bridge will cause alternating lane closures near mile marker 16 on Highway 19 to remain on a seven-day-a-week, twenty-four-hour schedule as bridge rehabilitation work is underway. Speed on the bridge is reduced to 20 miles per hour.

This is the only DOT lane closure on the Big Island this weekend.

All lane closures are weather permitting and have the possibility of changing without notice.
