It’s been eight years since Island Insurance Company first received recognition on the Top 50 Property and Casualty Insurers list, a nationwide list of top insurance carriers in the nation compiled by the Ward Group.
Not only is Island Insurance Company the first Hawai’i-based insurer to be recognized on the list, but the company is also the only insurance company in the nation to be recognized eight times consecutively.
“We are very proud to once again be recognized as one of the top performing property and casualty insurance carriers in the country,” said John Schapperle, president and chief executive officer of Island Insurance. “Achieving this distinction for eight consecutive years is a reflection of our excellent financial strength and the longstanding commitment by our outstanding employees, agency partners and loyal policyholders.”
The financial performance of over 3,000 property and casualty insurance companies in the United States is analyzed every year by the Ward Group to determine who the top performers are.

Honorees chosen demonstrate superior financial performance between 2010 and 2014, the five years considered when analyzed, and have passed multiple tests for safety and consistency.
