David Richard was named regional director of sales and marketing for the Hawai’i and French Polynesia region by Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

Starwood hopes to enhance its integrated approach to sales and marketing strategy with Richard in his new role driving the top-line revenue for 14 hotels and resorts throughout the region, 11 of which are in Hawai’i..

For 27 years, Richard has been a member of the Starwood Company. He recently returned to Hawai’i, where he previously served in the role of director of sales and marketing for The Orchid at Mauna Lani from 1996 to 2000.

After leaving his post at the Mauna Lani, Richard served in a variety of roles, including his most recent position as the director of sales and marketing for Starwood Hotels in Arizona, a position that he first held in 2009. In 2014, Richard led his team to earn the title of Starwood North American Sales Team of the Year.

Cheryl Williams, who formerly held Richard’s new position, was named general manager of The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort.
