The identity of a male suspect caught in photographs attempting to break into a Kilauea Avenue business in Hilo is being sought after by the Hawai’i Police Department.

Police are sharing photographs of a man, described as Caucasian, in his late teens or early 20’s, approximately 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-9, and has short hair. The man is seen in the photo wearing what appears to be no shirt, dark shorts, dark gloves, and a light colored large-brim hat. A large dark backpack with reflective markings was also being worn by the man in question.

Anyone who has information about the person shown in the images is asked to call the police department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311 or contact Detective Joel Field by calling 961-2381 or e-mailing [email protected].

Individuals who wish to remain anonymous should call the Big Island Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300.
