The Hawai’i Island United Way selected its 2015-2016 Campaign Chair on Thursday at the organization’s annual meeting and recognition, held at the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, located on Lanikaula Street in Hilo.

J.E. Orozco, current Pacific Media Group East Hawai’i Sales Manager, was introduced as the campaign chair for the coming campaign year.

Serving the community by uniting people, organizations, and resources to build a healthier community on the Big Island is HIUW’s ultimate purpose, using Orozco as a strong leader in accomplishing campaign goals.

“I look forward to working with the Hawai’i Island United Way and with the partner agencies across the Big Island to help make Hawai’i the best place to live,” Orozco said.

Orozco also emphasized the importance of giving to HIUW, noting that the money stays on the Big Island. “Ninety-eight cents of every dollar stays right here on the Big Island. Thank you in advance for your support of 2015-2016 Campaign.”

Hawai’i Police Department Chief Harry Kubojiri and Hawai’i County Fire Department Chief Darren Rosario served as the co-chairs for the 2014-2015 campaign.
