Ocean View Fire Under Investigation

A fire broke out in a Hawaiian Ocean View Estates home along Coral Parkway Tuesday morning.

Seven Hawai’i County Fire Department firefighters, along with Company 20 and three volunteer fire fighters, arrived at the scene around 10:20 a.m. to find a single story structure fully engulfed in flames.

According to HFD, seven occupants of the home had already safely evacuated by the time personnel arrived.

The total loss was estimated to be at $10,000. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.

Hawai’i Red Cross volunteers responded to the scene to assist with the immediate emergency needs of the residents affected by the fire. Clothing, food, and groceries are among the items provided to the family. Red Cross caseworkers will follow up in the coming weeks to provide assistance with referrals, guidance, or additional assistance to aid in the recovery process.
