The Department of Water Supply has announced a temporary water shut-off along Kamehameha Avenue in Hilo from Pauahi Street to Kumu Street, effective Wednesday, April 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Water in the area will be shut off as waterline work for the Kamehameha Avenue Reconstruction Project continues.

Customers in the affected area should be aware of possible trapped air in their plumbing systems. The waterlines will also be flushed, so turbid or discolored water may also occur.

DWS officials advise customers to take necessary precautions to protect their property and facilities, especially devices that depend on water supply or pressure.
