Scheduled Road Closures March 9-13

The following temporary lane closures have been announced by the State of Hawai’i Department of Transportation between Monday, March 9 and Friday March 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Alternating single lane closures will occur on Mamalahoa Highway, also known as Route 11, in both directions. The closures will be between mile markers 39.5 and 45.6 in the vicinity of Volcano to Kapapala Ranch as roadway pavement reconstruction is underway.

Along Hawai’i Belt Road, also known as Route 19, alternating single lane closures will occur in both direction between mile markers 10 and 15.6 in the vicinity of Pepeekeo to Hakalau for roadway improvements.

An additional single road lane closure will take place on Route 19 for roadway improvements. The area of Kaawalii Gulch in both directions, between Jardine Road and Old Mamalahoa Highway, will be affected.

Lane closures and roadway improvement schedules are pending inclement weather conditions. The closure schedules have the possibility of changing without further notice, according to DOT.
