A temporary water shut-off has been announced for the South Kohala area along South Kohala Distribution Road.

Department of Water Supply officials say the area will be impacted on Tuesday, March 10 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. as a waterline connection is made for the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands Lalamilo Subdivision.

Once water service returns, DWS warns that turbid or discolored water may be experienced by customers, as the lines are flushed and cleaned. These conditions, in addition to trapped air, will dissipate upon use of water.

Customers are advised to take precautions necessary to protect pumps and other devices that depend on water pressure.
