HPD to Hold Puna Community Meeting

A Hawai’i Police Department community meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17 at Cooper Center in Volcano Village.

The meeting, which will be an opportunity for the public and HPD command staff to discuss police related concerns, will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

HPD’s police chief and commanders who oversee Puna District operations will be in attendance.

These community meetings are held on a rotating schedule throughout the eight police districts on the Big Island.

Participation in the meeting is limited to those who live or work in the Puna district. HPD says the limitation is allow police officials to focus on the specific community concerns of the district.

Anyone who wishes to participate but is unable to attend the Tuesday afternoon meeting can e-mail their concerns or comments to [email protected].
