Hawai’i Red Cross Seeks Kona-Area Disaster Vounteers

The Hawai’i State Chapter of the American Red Cross is currently recruiting disaster services volunteers in the Kailua-Kona area.

Interested volunteers should sign up through the Volunteer Section of the Red Cross Hawai’i website. Upon signing up as a volunteer, the Red Cross will contact individuals about the necessary free training classes.

New volunteers are required to take a series of basic disaster courses. The next courses will take place at the West Hawai’i Civic Center.

The workshops will be held on the following dates and times:

Disaster Services: An Overview –  Saturday, March 21 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Shelter Fundamentals –  Saturday, March 21 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Disaster Assessment Fundamentals –  Sunday, March 22 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
