The week-long ‘Journey Through the Universe’ educational event kicks off this Friday, Feb. 27 and continues through Mar. 6, 2015. The program is a national science educational initiative aiming to inspire youth in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) related fields. Teachers, students, families, and the general public are invited to engage in the fun of learning about science, space, and astronomy in a variety of events including workshops, lectures, activities, and classroom visits.

Astronomy Educators in the classroom
In 2014 the program celebrated its 10th anniversary on the Big Island, having engaged some 50,000 students with 3,000 classroom visits.
