Waikoloa has been ranked as the seventh-best vacation rental destination in the United States, based on TripAdvisor Vacation Rentals 2014 traveler reviews.
To achieve the ranking, TripAdvisor’s poll compared the average scores of reviews for vacation rentals with at least 1,000 total reviews by U.S. region.
With a score of 4.75 out of a possible five, equivalent to 95% percent, Waikoloa made the top ten, sandwiched between two other Hawai’i destinations: Wailea, ranked number six and Ka’anapali, ranked number eight.
Volcano also made the ranking at number 10, receiving an average review of 4.73 out of five.

Among the many reviews of Waikoloa, one reader credited the comfortable feeling and easy access to amenities as reasons why they love Waikoloa as a vacation spot.
“The owners have a way of making you feel welcome on their property. Great location within walking distance to shopping centers and the beach,” said one review. “I would definitely prefer to stay here than the Hilton in terms of cost, spaciousness and freedom!”
TripAdvisor, home to 650,000 vacation rental around the world, praises Waikoloa for its resort-like villa properties and beachfront condos.

Waikoloa has received numerous TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence awards.
