Search Warrant Leads to Arrest of Waikoloa Man

On Thursday, 48-year-old Tandi “Duke” Ezzo of Waikoloa was charged with numerous firearm and drug offenses after the Hawai’i Police Department executed a search warrant on his home and vehicle in Waikoloa.

The search warrant at his home on Lanakila Street in the Waikoloa Village area early Thursday morning was executed by South Kohala Community Policing officers, Kona Community Policing officers, and officers from the South Kohaha District.

Officers recovered 5.3 grams of suspected “ice” and several forms of paraphernalia related to the drug’s use and distribution. Police also found ten fire arms. Ezzo was arrested at the scene.

Ezzo was charged with six counts of third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, three counts of possessing drug paraphernalia and one count of third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug. He was also charged with 10 counts of not having a permit to acquire a firearm and 10 counts of registration mandatory.

Bail for Ezzo was set at $39,000. He is currently being held at the Kona police cellblock, pending his initial appearance in Kona District Court on Monday.
