The Hilo Trap and Skeet Range will be closed to public shooting on Saturday, Feb. 14 and Sunday, Feb. 15.

According to the County of Hawai’i Department of Parks and Recreation, the closure is to accommodate the Pacific International Trapshooting Association 2015 State Championship.

PITA’s tournament begins on Friday, Feb. 13 and will run through the weekend. Members of the public are invited to attend the free event and watch the competition.

County officials say that normal operating hours will resume at the facility on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at its usual opening time of 12 p.m.
