Residents in Pa’auilo are being asked to restrict water use as continued power interruptions are affecting the distribution of water in the area.

According to the Department of Water Supply, customers are being asked to keep water usage down to just essential usage only, meaning for cooking, drinking, and sanitary purposes. Residents are also being asked to disconnect supplies that regularly draw water, such as irrigation systems.

A DWS spokesperson says that water hauling is underway for the Pa’auilo water system.

In Waimea, residents on Mana Road remain without power and water service. An update from the DWS Sunday afternoon says that an emergency drinking water spigot is still available for affected customers at the Waimea Baseball Park on Spencer Road. Other customers in Waimea who currently have service are being asked keep water usage to an absolute minimum.
