Arrest Made in June Eden Roc Shooting

A 22-year-old Mountain View man was arrested Friday morning in connection to a shooting that happened in the Eden Roc subdivision earlier this year.

Nicholas Stertz was arrested at 10:15 a.m. on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder for an incident that happened on June 28. He was released from custody at 4:20 p.m.

The victim, a 30-year-old man, was treated and released from the Hilo Medical Center after suffering apparent gunshot wounds.

On July 16, police arrested 58-year-old Wayne Delossantos on suspicion of attempted murder in relation to this case. He was later released.

Detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section continue to investigate the case. Anyone with knowledge of the incident should contact Detective Dean Uyetake at 961-2379 or Detective John Rodrigues Jr. at 961-8222.
