The Department of Water Supply has announced a water shut-off notice for areas along Kumau Street and Ocean View Drive in Hilo.

Waterline connections for the Kumau Street Entrance Improvements at Pier 4 Inter-Island Cargo Terminal Project will temporary shut-off water on Friday, Nov. 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Once the water resumes, the waterlines will be flushed and cleaned. At that point, customers may notice trapped air in plumbing. It will release upon initial use of water.

Customers in the area who will be affected are advised by the DWS to take necessary precautions to protect their property and facilities, as well as plan on not using water during the scheduled time.
