The Department of Water Supply has scheduled a temporary water shut off along the Puna side of Waianuenue Avenue in Hilo, from the Arc of Hilo building to the connecting side road directly above it.

A waterline connection for the Arc of Hilo Site Improvement Project will take place on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

When water service resumes, waterlines will be flushed and cleaned. During this time, turbid or discolored water may be noticed.

Customers in the area are reminded by the DWS to take precautions necessary to protect property and facilities. Precautions may include disabling electrical power to pumps or other devices whose normal operation may be dependent on water pressure and that may be harmed if automatically energized during the water shut off.
