P&R Battle Against Fire Ants Continues

As part of the ongoing battle against fire ants, the Hawai’i County Department of Parks and Recreation will be temporarily closing park sites to treat the problem.

The following locations will close temporarily on their indicated dates, weather permitting:

Lili’uokalani Gardens, Oct. 20 and Dec. 1

Hilo Bayfront Park, Oct. 21 and Dec. 2

Honoli’i Beach Park, Oct. 21 and Dec. 2

Kamana Senior Center, Oct. 28 and Dec. 9

Onekahakaha Beach Park, Oct. 29 and Dec. 10

Pana’ewa Rainforest Zoo, Nov. 5-6 and Dec. 17-18
