“The trees that ate Puna” appear to be having some indigestion.

After an all-night wind lashing courtesy of Hurricane Iselle, Puna residents are reporting large numbers of fallen albizia trees, some of which are blocking roads and disrupting utility services.

One particularly large tree fell across Maku`u Drive near the HPP activity center, stranding area residents. Elsewhere in HPP, homes sustained damage as trees and branches collapsed over houses.
