The Hawaii Red Cross disaster truck in Hilo was stolen sometime last night from the Red Cross office at 55 Ululani Street in Hilo.

The 2008 F150, 4WD Ford truck is white with Red Cross logos and has a mid-bed tool drawer, license plate number 998 HDP.

A police report has been filed.

The vehicle is urgently needed by the Red Cross for disaster responses to Hurricane Iselle tonight and for Julio in the days following, said a Red Cross release.

Red Cross officials are also concerned that whoever stole the truck may be misrepresenting themselves as Red Cross staff or volunteers.

Anyone seeing the vehicle should call 911, the Red Cross said.
