A fire of unknown origin destroyed a home on a coastal road between Hawaiian Paradise Park and Hawaiian Beaches early this morning.

Firefighters from the HPP fire station responding to a 4:54 a.m. alarm arrived at the house at 15-2169 Government Beach Rd. at 5:15 p.m.

They found the 2,100-square-foot, three-story structure had collapsed in flames.

Firefighters found their access to the home hampered by a rock wall at the perimeter with a narrow, locked gate. Firefighters had to cut the lock to gain entry to the property.
