Kamehameha-Hawai`i graduates Kiani Wong and Erin Carvalho were among 406 student-athletes to receive Big West Conference Academic All-Conference selections for the Spring 2014 semester.

The conference, which is comprised of eight California schools and Hawai`i, announced the awards earlier this week. Sports covered include men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track and field, and women’s water polo.

In order to make the list, student-athletes must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and be at least a sophomore. The student-athlete must also have participated in at least half of his/her team’s events.

Wong, a sophomore on the University of Hawai`i softball team, appeared in 33 of her team’s 50 games last season. She batted .125 on the season in only 12 at-bats with five runs scored. She made eight starts.
