Enriques, Poe Earn Top Athletic Awards at KS-Hawai`i

Evan Enriques and Casey Poe earned Athlete of the Year honors at Kamehameha-Hawai`i.

The private school announced each award winner last week. Enriques, who has received a scholarship to play volleyball at Stanford University, was named the Male Athlete of the Year. Enriques was named the Most Outstanding Player in the New City Nissan/Hawai`i High School Athletic Association Boys Volleyball Championships earlier this month.

Casey Poe was named the Female Athlete of the Year. Earlier this month, she won the gold medal in the triple jump at the Island Movers/Hawai`i High School Athletic Association Track & Field Championships. She was also an all-state selection on the girls basketball team, which finished second at the Hawaiian Airlines/HHSAA Division II Girls Basketball Championships. She will play basketball at Whitman College.

Kalae Trask-Sharpe was named Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Tiana Iwata was named Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
