A Hilo man has been charged in a burglary recorded on a home video surveillance system.

The victim, a 27-year-old Hilo man, told police in late February that he had images of the suspect removing tools from his attached carport.

On Wednesday, police arrested 30-year-old Mitchell Kihara. He was charged Thursday morning with first-degree burglary and third-degree theft.

Kihara was being held in lieu of $5,500 bail.
