UPDATE: Man Wanted in Theft Case Surrenders to Police

A Hilo man wanted on an outstanding warrant in a theft case surrendered to police Wednesday afternoon.

Police said Benjamin Fonseca turned himself in at the South Hilo Police Station.

Fonseca was arrested on the warrant and also on suspicion of another theft and of 28 counts of forgery.

He was being held at the police cellblock while detectives continued their investigation.

Police are asking for the public’s help locating a 51-year-old Hilo man wanted for theft.

Benjamin Fonseca was described as 6-foot-1 and 250 pounds, with hazel eyes and brown hari.
