UPDATE: Police Locate Missing Man in Wheelchair

John Richard Strange, a 70-year-old man reported missing since Dec. 3, was located this morning unharmed in Puna, police said.

Posted 9:42 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10:

Police are asking for the public’s help locating a 70-year-old Hilo man missing for a week.

John Richard Strange is Caucasisan, 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds, with a tan complexion, brown eyes, wavy grey hair and a full beard. He has several tattoos on his inner forearms.

Police said Strange uses a wheelchair for mobility, and has a medical condition that requires medication.

Police said John Richard Strange has not been seen since having contact with a caretaker on Dec. 3.

His family is concerned for his safety and well-being, police said.
