Cowboys Defeat Honoka`a in Kea`au / Waiakea Consolation Game

Mikala Jordan scored 17 points and led four double-digit scorers as Kohala defeated Honoka`a 67-51 in the Blue Bracket consolation round of the Kea`au / Waiakea Boys Basketball Tournament.

Justin Agbayani scored 14 points, Hana Carvalho added 13, and Shawn Ray Ramos dropped in 10 for head coach Don Fernandez, who saw his team improve to 1-1 on the season.

Honoka`a (1-4) was led by Shyrome Batin, who scored 17 points.

The Cowboys will face Waiakea 2 in the Blue Bracket fifth place game Friday at 4:30 p.m. Prior to that contest, Honoka`a will take on Kealakehe in the Blue Bracket seventh place contest. The Waveriders defeated Honoka`a 63-56 last Saturday during the Honoka`a Boys Basketball Tournament.
