Wanted Man Surrenders at Hilo Police Station

A Hilo man wanted by police on bench warrants turned himself in at the Hilo police station Thursday.

Jacob Umemoto, 35, was charged with contempt of court and failure to appear. He was also arrested and charged on suspicion of resisting an order to stop and reckless endangerment for an incident that occurred in Hilo on Nov. 2.

Umemoto’s bail was set at $12,000.
