The Hawaii Police Department will hold a community meeting Tuesday, Oct. 15, in Kapa`au in North Kohala.
The meeting is scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. at the Kohala Intergenerational Center on the Akoni Pule Highway.
The purpose of the meeting is to give the public an opportunity to meet the department’s command staff and to discuss police-related concerns with police Chief Harry Kubojiri and commanders in the district.
To aid police commanders in focusing on specific community concerns, they ask that participation be limited to persons who live or work in the North Kohala District.

Those interested in participating but who are unable to attend may call Capt. Jason Cortez at 889-6540, stop by the North Kohala police station in Kapa`au or email their concerns or comments to [email protected].
Police community meetings are rotated throughout the Big Island’s eight police districts.
