UPDATE: Couple Sought for Questioning Located

A couple who police wanted to question about an assault and vehicle theft that took place last month has been located.

Police thanked the public for its assistance.

Posted 10:29 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2:

Police are looking for a married couple in connection with a robbery and vehicle theft that took place in the early morning on Aug. 6 in the parking lot of Coconut Island,  also known as Moku Ola.

Police want to question John Curtis K. Kuhia, 30, and his 36-year-old wife, Shanna Y.L. Carvalho-Kuhia about a 3 a.m. incident in which a 26-year-old Hilo man reported he was assaulted and his pickup was stolen.

The vehicle, a white 2006 Toyota Tacoma, license plate KYM 755, has not been located.

Kuhia is described as 5-foot-9 and 188 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. His wife is 5-foot-9 and 300 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair.

The couple’s last known address was in Mountain View.
