The Hawaiʻi Police Department is inviting South Kohala residents to a community meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 20, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Hawaiian Homes hall in Waimea.

Residents will have the opportunity to meet the police department’s command staff and discuss concerns with the police chief and commanders who oversee operations in their district.

Police rotate district community meetings throughout the eight police districts on the Big Island. To help police commanders zero in on specific community concerns, officials have requested that only residents living in the South Kohala District attend.

Anyone interested in participating  who will be unable to attend may call Captain Randall Medeiros at 887-3080. Residents can also stop by the South Kohala police station in Waimea, or e-mail their concerns to [email protected].
