Gov. Abercrombie to Speak at ‘Cabinet in Your Community’ Event in Kona

Gov. Neil Abercrombie will provide opening remarks at an event open to the community in Kona.

Dubbed the ‘Governor’s Cabinet in Your Community,’ the meeting is intended to provide residents of West Hawai`i an opportunity to interact with members of the governor’s staff and share their concerns.

The event will include breakout sessions focused on areas of greatest importance to West Hawai’i inhabitants, as identified by island legislators and community members.

Attending the event will be the governor and his cabinet, including the chairs of the Departments of Agriculture, Hawaiian Home Lands, Transportation, and Land and Natural Resources, as well as others.

The meeting will be hosted at the Kealakehe Intermediate School Cafeteria on Thursday, Aug. 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
