Police have charged a 45-year-old Puna woman with assault and other offenses in connection with Saturday’s stabbing incident in the Ainaloa subdivision.

Police said bail for Heidi Leialoha Lewis was set at $6,000 after she was charged Sunday with first-degree assault and abuse of a family or household member.

In addition to allegedly stabbing him multiple times, police said Lewis also hit the victim, a 31-year-old man, with a broomstick.
