Wanted: Kona Man in Connection to Sexual Assault

Hawaiʻi Island police are seeking a 22-year-old Kona man who is wanted for questioning in connection with a sexual assault.

Police say the man, William John Johnson, has no permanent address and may be in Kona or Waipio.

Johnson is described as 5-foot-9, 150 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes.

He is also wanted on a $10,000 bench warrant in an unrelated case.

Police ask that anyone with information on his whereabouts call the police department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311. The detective in this case is Renee Morinaka.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
