Two Kona women were charged today in connection with the robbery last week of a 13-year-old girl in Kailua-Kona.

The victim told police she was waiting for a Hele-On bus at the intersection of Kealaka`a and Kealakehe streets at 2:24 p.m. Friday when the pair attacked her and stole her backpack.

Police said the girl sustained a cut lip and scrapes on her leg and arms.

An investigation led police to the two suspects, identified as 18-year-old Judie Kahele and 19-year-old Kayla Arellano, both of Kailua-Kona. Both were arrested on Tuesday.
