An 18-year-old Hilo man has been charged with robbery, unlawful imprisonment and other offenses in connection with last week’s robbery of a couple camping at Kolekole Beach Park.

Bail for Tyler Kamanao Taylor was set at $121,000.

Other charges filed against Taylor include car theft, two counts of terroristic threatening and two counts of theft.

The charges stem from a Feb. 6 incident in which a man and woman, both 29, were awakened in their tent in the early morning, threatened with a knife and robbed. Their assailant then fled in their rental car.
