Hilo DIA Annual Meeting Feb. 13
by Denise Laitinen
The Hilo Downtown Improvement Association will hold its annual meeting on Feb. 13 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Palace Theater on Haili Street in Hilo.
There is no fee to attend and the meeting is open to both members and nonmembers.
The evening begins with a speed networking and socializing, with the general meeting starting at 6:30 p.m.
New board members will be elected during the general meeting. Hilo DIA is looking for board members to serve one, two and three year terms.
Hilo DIA is not a government agency. Rather, it’s a nonprofit organization that focuses on preserving and revitalizing Hilo’s historic district.
Established in 1962, the group works to promote and support the historic downtown area with a variety of community events.
DIA sponsors First Fridays, a Hilo town art walk the first Friday of the month, as well as provides free live Hawaiian music and hula on cruise ship days.
