There will be a new Division II champion in the Outrigger Hotels and Resorts / Hawaii High School Athletic Association Boys Soccer Championships this week in Oahu.

Honoka`a High School, the winner of the last two state titles, did not qualify for the tournament this year, but the Big Island still received a top seed in this year’s field.

Konawaena High School, coming off of their 1-0 win over Christian Liberty in Saturday’s championship game, earned the tournament’s highest seed and will begin play Thursday in the eight-team tournament. The Wildcats will face Farrington of the Oahu Interscholastic Federation.

The Big Island Interscholastic Federation received three berths in the Division II field. Runner up Christian Liberty will play against third-seeded Kalaheo, also out of the OIA, while BIIF third-place school Hawai`i Preparatory Academy will face Kapa`a of the Kaua`i Interscholastic Federation.
