Construction work on new restrooms at Reed’s Bay Beach Park in Hilo was to get underway today, the county Department of Parks and Recreation said.
Isemoto Contracting Co. Ltd. was selected for the project costing about $569,000.
The park will be kept open during the construction, although some areas may need to be cordoned off for the public’s safety.
Portable bathrooms will be provided until the completion of the new comfort station which is scheduled for April.
The park along Hilo’s Banyan Drive was the subject of a $690,000 renovation project completed earlier this year.
