UPDATE: Victim in Fatal Motorcyclist Crash Identified

A motorcycle rider who died Friday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 130 and Leilani Avenue was identified as 65-year-old Bo Lozoff of Kalapana.

Lozoff died after he collided with a sports utility vehicle which had failed to yield the right of way when making a left turn into the entrance of the Leilani Estates subdivision.

The accident, which occurred at the intersection of Highway 130 and Leilani Avenue, was reported to authorities at 3:45 p.m.

According to the fire department, the driver of the car declined medical treatment.

Lozoff was dead at the scene.

Police closed the intersection for several hours while conducting their investigation. Traffic was rerouted to Pohoiki Road.
