A rockin’ musical has been hitting high notes at the Palace Theater. Jesus Christ Superstar continues its second week run on October 12 and 13 at 7 p.m.

This Broadway musical was first staged in 1971, became a movie in 1973 and was made into a television film in 2000. The story is loosely based on Jesus in his last week of life.

Andrew Lloyd Webber created this rock opera with Tim Rice at the lyrical helm. The rock opera combination continues to be magic 40 years later with three Broadway revivals.

Here in Hawai’i, familiar names surface to take part in this fun-filled musical. Clay Callaway directs, with Quack Moore as musical director and Lina Manning as choreographer.
