An International Day of Peace takes an island-style vibe with reflection, awareness and mindful action coinciding with taiko drums, local foods, crafts and Bon Dance.

On Saturday, Honoka’a Town is the site of a moving festival featuring live music, dance, marching bands, costumes and more.

This colorful event begins its trek at 10 a.m. from Honoka`a High School. The event continues at the Honoka`a Sports Complex from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Proceeds from this free family friendly event will be utilized for community service, charities and peace initiatives island-wide.

This is the 6th Annual Peace Parade and Festival. Enjoy the community and experience a day devoted to cultivating a better world, one interaction at a time.

United Nations International Day of Peace is presented by the Peace Committee of the Honoka‘a Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in cooperation with the United Nations and other community organizations.

The Honoka`a High School is located at 45-527 Pakalana St. The Honoka`a Sports Complex is located at 45-540 Koniaka St.
