Sports Authority Now Hiring For New Hilo Store

Sports Authority has begun screening applicants for its Hilo store, set to open in August in the Prince Kuhio Plaza.

A company representative told Big Island Now that the retailer will be hiring for about 40 positions including cashiers, sales authorities and team leads.

As previously reported, experts predict that jobs and income on the Big Island will rise, led by tourism. Unemployment claims on the island have also fallen substantially.

The approximately 50,000 square foot store will be the 6th location in Hawaii and the 2nd on the Big Island for the sporting apparel chain. The company has over 450 outlets nationwide.

Applicants can apply online through Sports Authority’s career website.
