She’s a flutist from Spain, and he’s a guitarist from Bosnia. Together they make an incredible musical pair called the Cavatina Duo. Denis Azabagic, and Eugenia Moliner are internationally acclaimed musicians who will make a brief stop at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo’s Performing Arts Center on April 24, at 7:30 p.m.

Azabagic’s skill and artistry with the guitar has earned him eleven wins at international guitar competitions. He proves his “guitar virtuoso” label true. Moliner’s stage presence and execution of music has inspired composers to write pieces especially for the pair. Classical pieces mingle with modern compositions in the pair’s repertoire. This duo has performed widely in Europe, Asia and many parts of North America.

When not performing, recording, and rehearsing, the pair works teaching passionate musicians with the Calcutta Classical Guitar Society and the Chicago College of Performing Arts at the Roosevelt University.

Tickets are available at the UH Hilo Box Office at $15 general, $12 for seniors and $7 for students. Call 974-7310 for more information, or visit http://artscenter.uhh.hawaii.edu/. The University of Hawai’i at Hilo is located at 200 W. Kawili Street in Hilo.
